Enable & educate SOKSAN

Supporting educational projects like the Cambodian Kids Foundation is one of the most powerful ways to create equality and long-term community resilience.

A place of hope

In the heart of Kampong Thom Province, where opportunities for education were once scarce, the Cambodian Kids Foundation created a place of hope: Soksan International School (SIS). Today, more than 400 children from the surrounding community arrive each morning to learn, share meals, and grow together in a school that feels like family.

Caught in cycles of poverty

For many years, children in rural Cambodia faced impossible choices. To study or to work. Limited access to education, healthcare, and stable income meant that entire generations were caught in cycles of poverty. Girls in particular had few chances to complete their schooling. Soksan International School was built to change this story, offering quality, bilingual education and a nurturing environment where every student is supported to stay in school and imagine a different future.

A curriculum beyond textbooks

Soksan International School now teaches over 400 students, employing 40 local staff including 11 teachers and 9 teacher aides. Every child receives free lessons, uniforms, transportation and a daily meal. The school’s curriculum goes beyond textbooks, offering music, dance, IT, sport and critical thinking. Skills that prepare students to shape the future of their communities.

Among those whose lives have changed through SIS is Mengyean. Once a young girl in a village known for illness and poverty, she is now a professional hockey player representing Cambodia on the national team. Her journey began in the classrooms and playing fields of SIS, where education and sport opened doors she never thought possible.
